The Housekeepers Album Launch – Doireann Glackin & Sarah Flynn

Irish traditional musicians Doireann Glackin (fiddle) and Sarah Flynn (concertina) are delighted to announce the launch their debut duet album ‘The Housekeepers’ in Matt Molloy’s Pub on Thursday 27th June at 8.30pm.

Flynn and Glackin are neighbours hailing from the Northside of Dublin and have been playing as a duet for a number of years. ‘The Housekeepers’, supported by the Arts Council of Ireland, is the culmination of a 2-year research project that sets out to illuminate the legacy of five unsung female musicians of our tradition: Ella Mae O’Dwyer, Nora Hurley, Aggie Whyte, Ellen Galvin and Mollie Myers Murphy.

‘The Housekeepers’ comprises 13 tracks featuring tunes sourced exclusively from the five selected musicians. John Francis Flynn provides delicate accompaniment on guitar on selected tracks. A detailed booklet beautifully designed by Black Rogue Designs, containing information from the research conducted, accompanies the CD.
